Presenter:

Annie Schwartz, MS, RDN, LDN (she/her/hers) is a registered dietitian and size inclusivity advocate and consultant dedicated to challenging weight bias and advancing body liberation. Holding a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Columbia University, Annie is also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and Certified Body Trust® Provider. In her counseling practice, she partners with individuals to cultivate compassionate, sustainable relationships with food and their bodies that support their overall health and wellbeing. As a size inclusivity consultant, Annie specializes in helping organizations and individuals create more equitable, inclusive environments and practices by addressing weight bias and integrating size inclusion into their practices.

Beyond Bias: Embracing Size Diversity and Championing Equity for All Bodies

Weight stigma and anti-fat bias affect every aspect of our lives, from mental and emotional well-being to physical and financial health. This session will explore the pervasive impact of these biases, discuss the importance of size inclusion and the benefits of a Health at Every Size® approach. You’ll gain tools to support and advocate for individuals in marginalized bodies while learning tangible strategies to challenge weight stigma and anti-fat bias in your daily life.

You will learn:

The widespread impact of weight stigma across various facets of life.

How size privilege manifests and intersects with other forms of oppression.

The cultural and historical underpinnings of anti-fat bias and how it is perpetuated in society.

The importance of fostering body positivity and creating inclusive spaces for all body sizes.

Practical steps to advocate for and support marginalized individuals.
